DIY: Clothes Hanger to Plate Hanger!

hanger s

I’m an avid plate collector apparently, I just can’t pass up a cute plate for .50 cents at a thrift store! And to justify this collection, I’ve taken to using them as decoration :).  Naturally, I got creative, and used my many metal clothes hangers for a more productive purpose!

You need:

  • Metal Hangers (1 clothes hanger makes 2 plate hangers)
  • Wire Cutters
  • Pliers
  • Pins or T-Pins

Ta-Da!  You’re done!!  It takes all of five minutes to make these!  I hung them on the wall with either a small pin, or a T-Pin, depending on how heavy the plate is.

Have fun with this, and share your plate arrangements on the
Abundantly More Facebook Page!!

Until Next Friday!

7 Minute Shoot..in the Snow…in May…

So, apparently I’ve jinxed spring, because it’s currently May 3, and it’s freezing cold outside, and snowing…it hasn’t snowed in my area in May since 1945 :).  So, to commemorate this strange phenomenon, I do what I do best, take pictures!  Enjoy these pictures of my top model, modeling her vintage look, and if you happen to be in a freezing cold area too, stay warm! 😀

Sometimes I go digging through old barns, and sometimes I find beautiful bottles :D. I wonder what I will be re-purposing them into!?!?!?! 😀

I went looking for mushrooms, instead I found this super cute little bottle! Maybe if mushrooms were small, shiny and cute I’d have better luck! 😀

Cheers!

Mad Mondays: Pipe Commander

Got the opportunity to sneak down to the pond and take pictures of this handsome, pipe smoking fisherman :).  For anyone that has a “shy guy”, taking pictures doesn’t have to be painful!  He fished & puffed, I walked around with my zoom lens, left him alone, and he just pretended I didn’t have a camera ;). We came out with some beautiful pieces from this impromptu shoot of a natural guy in his natural environment.  I’ll probably have some more to share with you later :).

Enjoy!

P.S. His goal is to have a beard as long as Phil Robertson’s, from Duck Dynasty!  So we’ll probably have to get more pictures at that point ;D.

Alice in Wonderland Nightime Photo Shoot

Where’s the White Rabbit?

Here are a few of my favorite photos from Wonderland!  I get the feeling that I’m not done taking Wonderland photos, but for the time being, these are what I have to show for my efforts!

Halfway through the shoot my kid-brother decided to invade the privacy of my secluded corner :D.  Of course I learned that brothers and croquet mallets don’t exactly mix, as you’ll soon find out!

I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed shooting them!

“The time has come, my little friends, to talk of other things

Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings

And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wigs

Calloo, Callay, come run away, With the cabbages and kings.”

These images were shot using my Sony A380 DSLR, one umbrella light, one tripod, and my handy-dandy remote control ;).

I’ve Been Framed…

…as a costume creator!

Here’s an image from my Alice in Wonderland shoot!

Random Fact: The apron I wore in my Wonderland shoot was in fact a white men’s dress shirt from Goodwill at one time!  Never underestimate the power for something to be Abundantly More!

The dress was $3.00 at Goodwill, the apron/dress shirt was $2.00, the shoes were from my closet, and the white tights were from Walmart.  Now go make something Abundantly More!  And don’t forget to share the results with me!
